I am extremely excited about the opportunity to submit my entries for the Graphic 45 Design Team for 2011. I have spent the last couple of week nights and week-ends happily crafting away in my Cropping Corner. I love creating with Graphic 45 Design papers and embellishments due to their high quality products and the versility of creating cards, layouts or altering items. Thank you for taking a look at my projects!
I will be doing some Youtube videos over the next few days to show the projects in a little more detail.
This has got to be my most favorite altered item ever! I had so much fun cutting out all of the images on these papers, Once Upon a Springtime. I purchased this cigar box at a garage sale a couple of years ago, in fact I think that I bought about 10 of them! First I painted the box with gesso and then Golden Titan Buff. I then cut papers to fit the sides tip and inside of the box and distressed the edges with Ranger, Walnut ink. I adhered the papers with Modge Podge and I went over the whole box with it to protect it from handling. I "fussy cut" a lot of the flowers and other images and colored most of them with my favorite Glitter Gelly Roll Pen by Sakura. After adhering all of the images around the top of the box I sprayed it with Pearl Glimmer mist and added some glitter to the wings of the fairies and the coats of the bunnies and added a few pears to the flower centers. I used Flower Soft in pale green and dark green to appear like grass. I just love how it turned out!
I know that I will be creating many more cards with these papers and even have an Easter card in the works. I created it using the same techniques as the cigar box.
I found this photo flip frame at a garage sale last summer and I knew that I wanted to make a recipe flip with it. I love the Domestic Goddess papers and thought that they would display my recipes beautifully. I found the recipe cards at Archivers and couldn't believe my luck that the colors matched just right. I distressed all of the edges with Ranger Walnut ink and used a variety of embellishments from my stash. The letters are the Die Cut Alphabet from Graphic 45.
I absolutly love the colors of the new collection, Curtain Call, they work perfectly with heritage layouts. I love this picture of my great aunt, that I have never met, and I thought that it could be showcased perfectly with these papers. The background paper is the new Core Impressions by core'dinations. I love how the papers are already embossed and when sanded the core reveals another color. I have been wanting to use the Film strip ribbon and knew that I had to outline the picture some way. I cut images from the paper collection for the paper film strip.
As soon as I saw these papers I knew what pictures I wanted to use. My Mother-in-law grew up near the Jersey shore and spent a lot of summers enjoying the beach. I popped up some of the images to create some dimension and created a frame to outline the layout. I distressed all of the edges and sponged on Ranger Walnut Ink.
These papers were perfect for this printers tray since there are so many images that can be cut to fit the different size blocks on the tray. I used embellishments that I had in my stash plus a net that I purchased in the floral department at Hobby Lobby.
I have this beautiful picture of my Grandparents on their wedding day circa 1940's I can't think of a better way to showcase this picture than to use the papers from the Le Romantique collection. I find myself looking at photos and the first thing I think about is what paper collection that I would use with it. I "fussy" cut the bride and popped it up to create some dimension and I cut out the butterflies. I colored their wings with Sakura Gelly Roll Glitter pen it works great on this paper. I folded the corner back and used the Graphic 45 chip board buttons, a vintage button, some prima pearls and the tags from the paper collection.
I made this card for a 50th anniversary using the Le Romantique collection from Graphic 45. I love this paper. The flower was made my Cara http://Love4Memories.wordpress.com. She sent this to me when I participated in a tag swap, I love how she made it.
The only extra embellishment that I used on this card was a ribbon that I saved off of a package.
I created this charger using the Christmas Past paper line. Other embellishments include items from I am Roses, Rollabind discs, (remember those) various trims, and Tim Holtz stamps.
Le Cirque Papers are full of brightly colored designs that will bring the child out in anyone. Who doesn't love a circus!!! I created this book using Graphic 45's black envelope album. I cut off the tabs because I tend to create chunky albums. I found some additional images from an old program from the 70's when I attended the circus with my family. I did not need to add any additional embellishments other than the paper and the tags included in the paper pack.
After creating the Album, I knew that I had to use the papers to create a card, in fact I have plenty from the pack to make several more as well. They will be perfect for birthdays, childrens cards or really anything!
4x4 Swap Pages, papers used were Halloween in Wonderland, Fashionista, and Le Romantique. I loved these swaps hosted by Bona because when all of the pages were returned we had a completed album.
