Dedication to Somer Thompson

A call came out from Sarah Kaczorowski, youtube, Kaczsk to make a Mini Scrapbook page and a card/Tag for Somer Thompson's Mom. Please visit Sarah's youtube if you would like to make a page to remember Somer. One can not even imagine the pain that Somer's family is going through. The poem on the tag reads

God Is With You
Although each day
brings challenges
and things that are unknown,
You needn't face them by yourself
or deal with them alone,
For others care about you
and will keep you close in prayer
and above all, God will guide you
For this love is always there.

Challenge #5 is “Omigod! It’s a scrunchie” The idea is to use a scrunched piece of paper. I used the Tea Dyed tags that I made. I first wet the tag, scrunched it and then soaked it in brewed tea over night. I then stamped an image on both and embossed them with brown Zing powder. I really like how vintage they look.

Challenge #3, “Transformers” More Than Meets the Eye. The idea of this challenge is to create an interactive layout. I created the first page of my TWS Mini swap using coin pockets and making an according pocket. The coin envelopes make pockets for 4 tags which can be used for journaling or adding pictures.

Challenge # 6 was to create a page only using pink, for “Pretty in Pink” now this was a challenge. I decided to make a page using Abby’s senior picture since pink is her favorite color. I used glimmer mist on the paper and flowers, plus a pink pen and a gem for the flowers. I actually think that I like it.

This is challenge#4 Breakfast Club. The idea was to create a layout about eating or a shared meal with someone special. This layout will be part of the Album I have yet to make of our trip to Mexico with the Roderique family to celebrate Lois and Bob's 50th wedding anniversary. We had dinner at the Japanese restaurant on the resort, yum!!

I participated in the Live Crop with Life on the Scrapbeach on Sat. Night and I'm going to try to complete all of the challenges. The crop had an 80's theme and the door prize was to dress in an 80's outfit. I wore Paul's Letter jacket that said '82so hope that counts!
Challenge #1 was to use the colors of the rainbow; red orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, plus, white, grey and black. I am posting a 12x12 layout of our day in AIX, France. What a fun day!

This is a picture that I made for my cropping corner using a butterfly punch and an old frame. I love how it looks with all of the beautiful papers. I'll have to make another one using glimmermist and bling. Thanks for watching!

This is a card that I made with a product called Flower-Soft. I love how it brings dimension to a project.

I just wanted to send a big thank you to a couple of people who have helped to spiff up my blog. My sister Kate Huffman is a great photographer and came over to take some pictures of my Cropping Corner. She did such a wonderful job I wanted to use the pictures to create a banner and to decorate the sides of the blog. I am terrible at anything computer related, I am surprised that I was even able to set this blog up. My good friend Donna helped to Photoshop one of the pictures and make it the correct size for a Banner. They both spent many hours working on this, I can't thank them enough. I think that a RAK is in order for both of them. I love how it looks and hope to continue adding things in the near future. Thanks for taking a peek.

This mini was made with a kit that I purchased from Rusty Pickle a few years back. It could easily be modified by changing the papers up and adding more embellishments. If anyone would like to see a kit like this, I would be happy to come up with one for my Etsy. Thanks for watching!

Mariposa Mini Kit

This is a loaded Mini Scrapbook Kit made with the Mariposa line from DCWV. I will have 2 of these kits available. Included is 6 7x6 chipboard pieces and an additional scalloped chipboard album. Also included is 24 6x7 sheets of designer paper, 3 8x8 glittered papers and 6 metallic papers which came with the Mariposa line along with many sheets of different size scrap papers from this line which can be used for pockets or even an additional smaller mini. This kit has tons of fibers and embellishments including a Blue Moon Bird Cage charm along with several other charms, buttons, bling, flowers eyelets, string, vintage music sheets and a vintage BINGO card, envelopes, new Vintage Findings mini embellishment pack, New Stamp set and the list goes on and on.

** pleased note that some of the items or colors may be different in each kit, both kits contain the same items, but the words on some of the tags or the color of some of the embellishments may differ. ***
Thank you!

Isn’t this a great picture, I am on the fiber wagon (I mean truck) too!! I have been on the search for unique fibers and laces for my books and kits and I am having a great time. Over the week-end I went to a few antique stores and found little bits of lace and a few buttons. All of the new laces are pretty, but I am finding that the vintage ones have a lot more character. I cannot decide if they have more character because they are old or because a lot of them are handmade and one of a kind. I know that it adds a whole new dimension to our work.
I am working on several kits including a Mariposa and Handmade papers and embellishments. I am also going to be working on a paper bag mini made with the gift bags with handles. I hope to have that up by the week-end and if it turns out I will make a kit with directions. So much I want to do and not enough time in the day 

What a great week-end for a run, I am so proud of my son Adam and my sister Kate for completing the 15k run at Castlewood Park. The weather was perfect for this time of year, but running on a trail is a lot harder than running on solid ground. At one point they had to run through a creek with knee high water. I think that Adam ran faster after that just so he could be done with it. He completed 2nd in his age group and received a gift certificate, Way to go!!!
Both of them are such an inspiration to me, though I really don’t like to run. I am looking forward to getting out in the yard and cleaning up my gardens. Not too much longer until spring now!
